John Brylski details his services and rates as follows: I will only charge for 4 hours of work / investigating per day even if I work longer on a case that day. Why? Because I don’t depend on this income for the survival of my wife and myself, but I’m not doing it for free, either. I can focus on your case with no financial pressure to myself and give your case the respect and attention it deserves. My satisfaction is to help my clients in need, and, at the same time, give a better life to my wife who deserves it. Missing person cases have a different fee structure; please see below. Retainer Fees. For those designated to have retainer fees, payment to obtain my services, the hourly per hour commences when I start working/investigating. Upon your retainer being exhausted, I continue to charge the hourly fee. If I complete the task/investigation before your retainer runs, out I return what is left. My services entail undercover investigations, background checks, surveillance, and any other tool or method of investigations I and/or my client feels is necessary to get results / solve a case. Background Investigations These can be pre-employment and any other the client feels is needed. I can perform simple backgrounds checks or a comprehensive investigation into the past of a person. These services range from database searches to reference checks, locating and contacting known & previously known associates, work history, as well as civil and criminal histories. Rates: Retainer fee $450. $50/hour. Child Support & Custody Investigations I gather evidence through surveillance, witness interviews, and background checks to support claims of neglect, abuse, or other issues impacting the child's well-being. I have much experience as a law enforcement investigator working with child protection in cases that would become valuable in my client’s case. Rates: Retainer fee $450. $50/hour. Criminal & Civil Defense Investigations (Complex) Attorneys in need of the best criminal defense investigator in the Wisconsin or surrounding states, look no further than John Brylski, owner of David and Goliath Detective Agency, LLC, with more than 30 years of experience. Plus all additional expenses. Criminal & Civil Court Testimony & Pre-sentencing Investigations Have you or someone you know been convicted of a felony? Do you want the judge to look at all the facts and extenuating circumstances of the case before he makes a sentencing decision? I can offer you a full pre-sentence investigation report prepared for you and your attorney, too. I also can investigate traffic accident & fatalities investigations. It can be presented to the judge. This service offers an objective look at your case through the eyes of a third party. Rates: Retainer fee $2,000. $50/hour. Dating, Lucky in Love Matchmaking I conduct dating background checks. I can even attempt to locate your soul mate as I was successful in locating mine. I realize sometimes people are too busy or have different preferences on dating people or just want a lifetime non-romantic friend. In effect, I will search and locate someone like a match maker for you. Your life and satisfaction can depend on it. If requested, for your protection, I can be present under cover or in plain sight when you meet your match the first time. Rates: Retainer fee $500. $40/hour. Domestic I handle inquiries focused on personal or family matters, often involving concerns like infidelity, domestic abuse, or issues related to nannies, and I can involve private investigators to gather evidence and provide support. Rates: Retainer fee $1,000. $50/hour. Due Diligence, Internal Theft, & Unethical Conduct Equalizer Investigations of Anyone Concerning Civil Rights Violations I investigate from the top, be it the chief of police to the sheriff of a county to officers or deputies in their department or office, including misconduct in office being ignored or covered up by employers or employees. I also investigate private businesses that create a workplace culture that is unethical in behavior, such as harassment or worse. I will get you justice or protection from further harm be it financial, emotional, or physical, all legally without risk to yourself. Rates: Retainer fee varies; I will let you know the fee after you explain the circumstances. I added this service based off of personal experiences I have encountered in my life. Rates: $75/hour. Insurance (Accident) Investigations Fraud Investigation Locating People & Skip Tracing Do you need someone located? I use a variety of databases and techniques to locate the person you need. Whether it’s a husband skipping out on child support, a fugitive that’s skipped the state on bail, or you just want to locate an old classmate or relative, I will find them. Rates: Retainer fee varies; I will let you know the fee after you explain the circumstances. “You want the best. I am the best.” $50/hour. Missing Persons (Dead or Alive), Heirs, & Runaways This is one of my specialties. If you want someone found, I will find them or find out what happened to them. No matter the reason, I will look for them. Typical cases include: Runaways/missing persons under 18 years of age, after first reporting to local law enforcement agency unless there are serious mitigating reasons not to. Children who leave home freely risk becoming entangled in illegal behavior or exploitation, such as trafficking, child pornography, or working with pedophile enablers. According to studies, 85% of the victimized children remain missing when exploitation occurs. Parental abductions Stranger abductions Non Family. These cases can involve a family, nanny, friend, or neighbor. Vulnerable adults over 18, for unknown reasons, such as temporary / mental illness / severe stress that could result in death or suicide. Missing children or adults, most likely missing and endangered from any geographical location (examples include cities /country such on water or forests). Rates: Retainer fee $1,000 for all cases; the rest is based off of a contingency fee. Below are the fees depending on time and the length the person is missing. For people who go missing for less than 6 months, if I find the person, the cost will be $3,000 More than 6 months but less than 1 year will be $5,000 1 year to 5 years is $15,000 5 years to 10 years is $25,000 Over 10 years is $30,000 There is no time limit for me concerning these cases as I will continue to work on them for as long as they are gone, return home or I or my client determines their loved one is safe or, for whatever reason, the adult wishes not to return home as it is not illegal for an adult to disappear as long as they are not a danger to themselves or others and there's no evidence of criminal activity. This does not include those under the age of 18 years old who do not have the right to run away / go missing unless emancipated, which is an exception. I will do my best, through assistance from you and law enforcement, to have them returned to you or a legitimate agency who is responsible for both treating your child as well as not allowing them to leave whenever they like until either you or the courts determine they can be released to you. For the situations I just discussed, I will charge on the basis of my scale above from 6 months or less up to over 10 years or more. If the reward is higher, as some missing persons have for their loved ones, I will only charge for the cases I have explained above. Also, unlike law enforcement, I will update you with everything I have done to find your loved one(s) and you can also come with me when I leave my office to locate your loved one(s) if you wish. If my investigation of your case, passed onto law enforcement, directly leads to your loved one’s location, alive or deceased, or if my investigation determines criminal circumstances that leads to the suspect(s) arrest by law enforcement with or without locating your deceased loved one, I will charge my above fees depending again on the time they are missing. Nursing Home Investigations I will conduct background checks on facilities and staff, conduct surveillance, and gather evidence to uncover potential abuse, neglect, or exploitation, ultimately helping families ensure their loved one’s safety and well-being. Rates: Retainer fee $350. $100/hour. Open Records Requests (Assistance & Tutoring) No matter how difficult, such as on open cases, my knowledge of both criminal laws and civil rules and litigation will provide invaluable insight to you. Retainer fee varies; I will let you know the fee after you explain the circumstances. $150/hour. Process Service Get your legal documents served promptly (in person). With standard service, attempts are made in 7 days of receipt of documents. Rush & same day service available. Rates: Retainer fee $95 including up to 3 searches. If requires more searches, $30 for each search after the third search. If I determine after my third search that it is no longer feasible based on my experience, I will let you know so you can decide if you want to keep paying me to attempt to serve your documents. $0.75/mile rate for jobs outside of standard service area. Process service is only offered in Northern Wisconsin (from Wausau northward). Records Searches I will access and compile information from public records like criminal records, property records, and court documents, to gather information for background checks or investigations. Surveillance & Video I use surveillance and video in cases, such as worker’s compensation, liability investigations, domestic investigations, family (such as cheating spouses), civil court surveillance, and more! Rates: Retainer fee $1,500. $195/hour. $0.75/mile. Travel expenses: hotels $225/night, meals $85/day. Other expenses incurred during surveillance will be billed to the client upon authorization from services agreement and statement of work. Trial Preparation Interviews I have very good interview skills developed through training and years of interviewing, including victims of any age, as well as suspects of any kind. Undercover Investigations Witness Testimony If your company needs me to testify as the investigator to the work I performed on your case or present evidence and potentially act as an expert witness to explain the findings. Rates: $1,560/day. Travel & overnight expenses, if applicable: hotels $150/night, meals $75/day. 48 hours’ notice of testimony cancellation required. Worker’s Compensation My area is primarily Wisconsin. I have personal knowledge of Northern Wisconsin all the way through Southern Wisconsin, as I lived in all those areas and in between. I also will accept cases in the states surrounding Wisconsin, including Illinois, Michigan, and Minnesota. I will travel where needed to accomplish solving a case or gathering information, evidence, and whatever my client asks of me or I feel is important to obtain for the client.
